Healing Schedule For Powder Brows

Photo credits: Tina Davies Professional IG

Day 1: Bold color, dramatic appearance, tender, slight bleeding. Slight discharge.

Day 2: Eyebrows look very dark and appears thicker in texture.

Day 3 - 4: Same as day 2 but a little lighter.

Day 5: Starting to itch. You may use a toothpick to "poke" at the skin to relieve itching.

Day 6-9: Flaky skin starts - peels from the outside edges first. Skin may be itchy and color looks patchy.

Day 10 - 13 : Color finishes flaking off. At this point, the color appears too light with missing spots. You may feel
it is too light and that your skin did not take the color well. Please be patient and color will even
out as the skin "mends" back together.

Day 14-21: Color and definition returns, hair-strokes start to reappear and even out.

Day 30: Healing is complete. All color is healed within the skin. Eyebrows should look very natural and soft.

Ombre Powder Brows After Care Instructions

Congratulations on your fabulous new power brows! To ensure optimal healing and color retention, please follow these aftercare instructions 7 to 10 days after the procedure:

  1. Immediate After Procedure (Every 1-2 Hours):

    • Gently wipe your brows using sterilized gauze (provided in the aftercare kit) with cooled water.

    • Removing any fluids will prevent the hardening of blood plasma/lymph, which lead to better color retention.

  2. Days 1-7: Washing Brows Daily (Morning and Night):

    • Begin by washing your hands thoroughly.

    • Gently cleanse your eyebrows each morning and night with baby shampoo and water.

    • Use your fingertips to softly rub the areas in a circular motion for 10 seconds.

    • Rinse with water, ensuring all soap is completely washed off.

    • Pat the area dry with a paper towel.

    • Your skin must air dry 5-10 minutes before moving to Step 3.

  3. Day 1-7: Moisturize

    • Apply a pin-point drop of aftercare ointment with a Q-lip and spread it across the area.
      • Do not over-apply the product. This will suffocate your skin and delay healing.
      • The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin.
      • Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo

    Do's and Don'ts:

    • DO NOT use cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.

    • Use a very light touch while cleaning your brows.

    • Ensure thorough rinsing of the area.

    • Avoid over-applying the aftercare ointment, as this can suffocate your skin and delay healing.

    • The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin.

Please note that the instructions above diligently is crucial for proper healing and long-lasting results. If you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to text our Vancouver studio 206-210-6282 for assistance.

What Are The Benefits Of Ombre Brows?

Powder brows offer a variety of benefits for those looking to enhance their eyebrows. First and foremost, they provide a more natural-looking result compared to traditional tattooing techniques. The soft, powdered effect mimics the look of natural eyebrow hairs, creating a more subtle and realistic appearance. Additionally, powder brows are semi-permanent, meaning they require less maintenance than daily makeup applications. They can also be customized to suit each individual's unique facial features and preferences. Overall, powder brows are a great option for anyone looking to enhance their eyebrows with a natural-looking, long-lasting result.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Ombre Powder Brows is a semi-permanent makeup technique that provides the look of having your brows filled in with pencil or powder. This method is meant to give the appearance of dimensional and blended eyebrows, with a gradient effect transitioning from dark tones to light ones. Ombre Powder Brows can last up to 18 months depending on skin type.

  • Some discomfort is to be expected when getting the Ombre brows. But it is usually quite minimal. It is certainly less painful than microblading. Pain tolerance levels vary from person to person, but a topical anesthetic will be used before and throughout the procedure to ensure comfort. Some of our clients actually fell asleep during the procedure. It is important to note that if you are on your menstrual cycle, you may be more sensitive to pain.

  • Ombre Brows typically last 2 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and how it is cared for, with increased exposure to sunlight without sunscreen potentially leading to faster fading.

  • The healing process for this style typically takes 10-14 days, during which time your brows might appear darker than you expect before later lightening 20-30%. After five days, some flaking will then occur making them look lighter and patchier; however, after 2-4 weeks this should even out back to their original tone. Once the healing process is done, you can return to normal activities (apart from certain specific aftercare instructions) such as working out or applying makeup, while protecting your brows with sunscreen when in bright sunlight.

  • If you have a previous brow tattoo, please submit photos before booking. To ensure we can provide the best service to you, please email clearly-lit images to cosmetat.wa@gmail.com for us to review prior to scheduling. All previous work must be regarded as a 'new' appointment. We will let you know our advice on what we think is the option for you.

  • The average time for a Ombre Brows appointment to be completed is 3-4 hours, starting with the consultation and shape defining. A shorter amount of time is needed for the touchup session.

  • Ombre powder brows are suitable for people with most skin types, such as dry, normal, oily, or sensitive. However, semi-permanent makeup is not recommended for those who have certain medical conditions or allergies; including those under 18 years old, pregnant or breastfeeding women, those undergoing chemotherapy/radiation, and auto-immune diseases. Additionally, individuals who have taken botox within the last month or used Accutane in the past year should also not receive ombre brows. If you have any of these conditions or take any medications please inform us before making the appointment.

  • There is no downtime with this procedure, making it easy to fit into a busy schedule, and with proper care instructions that will be given to you upon completion, you can achieve your perfect brows in no time!

  • No. We cannot perform cosmetic tattoos on people who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • The procedure begins with the technician drawing your desired brow shape with an eyebrow pencil according to how you like it. After finalizing the shape and color of choice for you, topical anesthetic will be used to numb your skin after the first pass of the tattoo procedure. The entire procedure is expected to last around three to four hours in total.

  • Creating your dream eyebrows is a two-part journey - an initial appointment and a follow-up or perfecting session 8-12 weeks later. The first session of Ombre Brows is $450. The second session, which is the prefecting session is $150. After the perfecting session, you can expect your newly shaped brows to last 2 years!

  • Are touchups necessary for a brow procedure? Absolutely! After your initial session of nano brows, you will come back in 8-12 weeks later for a touchup. This is where we assess how the pigment has taken and any fading since the first session. Touchups allow us to make adjustments to the shape, size, and color of your brows to achieve the desired look. If you don't get your follow-up appointment, your brows could fade faster than anticipated, so it is advisable to book this session to ensure the longevity of the results.

  • Aftercare for your brows is of utmost importance to ensure the best results. Directly following your procedure, avoid the followings:

    - direct sun exposure for 2 weeks

    - excessive sweating for 2 weeks

    - makeup on the brows or facial treatments for 2 weeks

    - botox for 2 weeks

    - laser treatments, chemical peels, and microneedling for 30 days

For long-term care, make sure to protect your brows from direct sunlight with an SPF. Additionally, you’ll want to be careful when using products that contain active ingredients such as acids and retinol. You should also plan on touch-ups every one or two years in order to maintain great results. For detailed instructions on care prior and post the Nano Brow session, please read here.
